It may come and go, but finally the sunshine has arrived and so in today's post, I will be sharing with you some of my favourite SPF products to keep you protected all day long...
If like me, you suffer from dry skin, then I would highly recommend the Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance Rich-UV Hydrating Cream* (£17.35 for 40ml). This is a rich hydrating cream with SPF 30 protection for dry to very dry, sensitive skin. It is a rich, softening daily moisturiser to instantly restore hydration into the skin, with up to 24 hour hydration and immediately refreshes the skin whilst preventing water from evaporating from the skin. The Hydrating Cream also hydrates whilst protecting the skin against UVA and UVB rays, free radicals and pollution. Smoothness and luminosity are restored and fine dehydration lines are minimised. This has been designed specifically for dry to very dry sensitive skin and I find it very hydrating on the skin as well as soothing, thanks to the Avene Thermale Spring Water it contains which has soothing properties.
For something a little different, I adore the That'so All In One Face Mousse* (£30.00 for 100ml). This can features a push down applicator which contains a delicate mousse for the face that hydrates the skin whilst also providing it with SPF 50+. Not only does this Mousse keep the skin hydrated and protected from UVA and UVB rays, it also gives the skin a beautiful dewy finish, which I haven't seen in a product like this before. To use, you simply give the can a shake, and apply it onto the skin 30 minutes before you are going outside. I love the dewy, glowy effect it gives to the skin, both on the face, and the rest of the body as it really enhances your tan as well as making your skin look super healthy whilst keeping it protected and moisturised.
Did you know that you can also get makeup primers that have SPF included within the formula? The Ark Skincare Skin Protector SPF30 Primer* (£38.00 for 30ml) is such a great multi-tasking product. This is a makeup primer, sunscreen and moisturiser all in one! You can use it as your daily moisturiser or use on top of your daily moisturiser for added hydration and protection. I love to use it as a makeup primer as it gives a gorgeous luminous base on which to apply my makeup and helps my foundation stay in place all day long. The formula contains a blend of UVA and UVB filters that give broad spectrum SPF30 protection against UV rays, along with Hyaluronic Acid to limit water loss through the skin's barrier, maintaining hydration levels, Vitamin E and Shea Butter to moisturise, protect and soothe, and a complex of Jojoba, Mimosa and Sunflower to reinforce the skin's barrier function. You can wear it with or without makeup, and it is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skins and the natural fragrance is heavenly!
If you suffer from especially sensitive skin, then you simply need the Lavera SPF30 Sensitive Sun Lotion* (£21.95 for 100ml). This Sun Lotion has a carefully balanced natural composition with mineral UV filters, Organic Sunflower Oil and Organic Coconut Oil to offer you reliable and immediate protection. The light, waterproof formula with mineral light protection reduces the risk of sun-related skin irritations, sun allergies and Mallorca acne and is suitable for atopic dermatitis too. It comes in a handy spray bottle and you simply apply generously all over the face and body before sunbathing. It blends into the skin quickly and effortlessly, and with the handy spritzer, you can apply whilst you are out and about. Another key point with this product that I wanted to point out is that it is Reef Friendly, so it is not going to have a harming effect on our waters and sea life whilst we are out in the water.
I mentioned a Primer with SPF, but you can also get skin tints that contain SPF. This is the Eau Thermale Avene Tinted Mineral Fluid* (£18.50 for 40ml), a long lasting, tinted, SPF50, face mineral sun cream that has been designed for even the most sensitive skin. This is a natural tint, matte finish, sun care fluid that has been formulated using only mineral based filters, to provide optimum protection for sensitive skin. The next generation mineral based complex gives broad spectrum defence from UVA and UVB rays, whilst remaining water-resistant. The formula contains antioxidant Pre-Tocopheryl to protect skin cells from free radical damage and soothing Avene Thermal Spring Water which also helps to keep the skin supple and soft. I have quite uneven skin tone, and so this is great for me as I can add a little colour to my skin, whilst also keeping it hydrated and protected from the sun!
