New Benefit Blushers Review + Swatches - Crystah, Moone, Shellie & Willa

Saturday 18 June 2022

Benefit haven't really released anything for a while now that has made me want to buy it and try it, but when I saw the new Benefit Blusher range, I was pretty excited. There are full sizes available at £27.50 for 6g and smaller sizes available at £15.00 for 2.5g. I would have preferred to buy all the shades I liked in the smaller size but not all shades are available in that size unfortunately.

My first mini is the Benefit Crystah Blush, which is classed as a strawberry pink, however I think it is more of a coral pink shade. The new packaging is slimmer than the old packaging, which I definitely appreciate and there is no mirror on the inside of the lid which I prefer as I never used them before. Crystah does have a shimmer to it, which is really pretty on the skin and the formula contains Freshwater Pearl and Synthetic Sapphire to give it that luminous, light-reflecting glow. Benefit state that the blush has a citrus-floral scent, but this is very feint, so if you don't like fragrance in makeup, do not worry as you really cannot smell it, especially on the skin.

I then chose the Benefit Moone Blush in the smaller size too, and the packaging is just gorgeous, as it is with all of the blushes - such pretty illustrations. Moone is a rich berry-toned blush and is supposed to have a light tropical scent to it, but again you can barely smell it. The blushes are very high pigment and so a little goes a long way and I find the formula silky soft, blendable and buildable, so they will work on all skin tones. I think Moone would make a lovely shade for Autumn, but is wearable all year round.

My final travel sized blush, although I could easily buy them all, is the Benefit Shellie Blush. Shellie is a pretty warm seashell pink colour with a hint of peach, and just like Moone and Crystah, does have a shimmer to it. I don't often like shimmery blushes as I have quite textured skin, but rather than being glittery or metallic, the shimmer is more of a lit-from-within glow which is really pretty on the cheeks. The powder formula feels ultra fine, weightless and creamy on the skin and gives a soft-focus, airbrushed effect. Shellie is supposed to have the same scent as the Dandelion Blush, but once again I really cannot smell anything other than powder.

The only full size I bought is the Benefit Willa Blush, as the colour is super wearable, however I would have preferred a mini size if they did it. Willa is a soft neutral-rose blush with a light-reflecting glow to it and is perfect for everyday wear and I believe it will look best on fair to light skin. I cannot really smell the Tropical scent again but it is slightly more noticeable in the larger sizes and these do also come with a mirror on the inside of the lid. The formula is sweatproof, humidity-proof and smudge-proof and I do find it long-lasting without budging on my skin later in the day. Overall I am thrilled with these new releases, they are all beautiful blushers but I do wish they would have released every shade in the smaller size.

You can find the new Benefit Blushers online at Benefit here.

All the Loves,
