The Essence Make Beauty Fun Collection Review + Swatches

Saturday 4 June 2022

Oooh I do love a new Essence collection and this is the Essence Make Beauty Fun Collection, which is all kinds of Summery gorgeousness. Essence is a European brand, and they don't distribute every product to every country, and so there are other products in this collection, but I don't have them here as they aren't available in the UK sadly.

First up is the Essence Make Beauty Fun Eye Brush Set (£9.95), which features seven eye makeup brushes which are decorated in a coral, purple and rose gold ombre effect. The brushes can be used to apply and blend eyeshadow, set highlighter and create flawless eyeliner lines. Stylish brows and wow lashes can also be created with these brushes as you receive a spooly brush too. They are a nice, petite size and feel lightweight to hold, with soft, silky bristles that aren't going to pull or tug on the delicate eye area. I think, for just over £1 a brush, you really cannot go wrong with this handy set.

Next in the collection is the Essence Make Beauty Fun I Love Extreme Volume Mascara which retails at £2.80 for 12ml - you have got to love Essence's prices! The tube has the same pretty ombre effect packaging and this limited edition black mascara has an extra-large fibre brush which coats each individual lash with texture for extraordinary volume. I am not wholly sure if this is a brand new mascara, as I have seen the I Love Extreme before, but I haven't had one for a while, so I cannot comment on that. However, this brush is large and in charge without irritating the lash line to give you bold, fuller lashes in seconds.

There is also the Essence Make Beauty Fun Highlighter (£3.79 for 10g), which comes in clear packaging - hurrah - it makes it so much easier to see cheek products in your makeup bag or drawer when they are in transparent packaging. This is a highly-pigmented highlighter with a rose gold colour gradient which has a soft powder texture that is easy to apply and blend. Due to the gradient effect, you can even use this as a blush, as you can use the three shades individually - a coral, a light peach and a gold, or swirl them all together to create a unique shade.

The final product in this collection available in the UK is the Essence Make Beauty Fun Plumping Lip Gloss. It retails for £2.29 for 3.8ml and there are two shades available. These are unique, ombre shaded lip plumpers with soft shimmer particles and a fresh mint scent. Each gloss' texture gives the lips an ultra-glossy finish with a multidimensional shimmer and a plumping effect. The two shades available are Swipe For Happiness, a sandy nude, and Happy Smile Happy Life, a pink nude. I haven't included swatches as for the most part, the colour doesn't show up on camera, but once applied to the lips, the shimmer is so pretty and helps the lips look fuller, but without the pain of some of the plumping lip products on the market.

You can find the Essence Make Beauty Fun collection online at Just My Look here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
