Trying Out Skin + Me Skincare Review + Discount Code

Friday 10 June 2022

I love trying out new brands and when I discovered an amazing offer from Skin + Me Skincare, I just had to try it out! I paid around £3.00, which I believe was a postage fee as the offer was for a month's free trial, which normally costs around £24.99.

You take an online quiz to discover what will work best for your skin, and are then sent a Cleanser, a Custom Cream and a Moisturiser that is best for your skin, all chosen by their in-house dermatologists. The first product I received for my skin is the Skin + Me Purify + Prep Hydrating Cleanser (80ml), which comes in a metal squeezy tube. This is great for normal to combination skin and is a gentle morning and evening cleanser that purifies the skin to create a clean, comfortable canvas each day. It is designed to nurture your skin barrier and allow the active ingredients in your customised Daily Doser to get to work. Key ingredients include Glycerin, a humectant that keeps skin cells healthy and protects against irritation, and Isoamyl Cocoate, a light, plant-based emollient that absorbs into the skin. You use it both morning and evening to cleanse the skin.

Next up is your customised Daily Doser, that even features your name and the expiry date of the product on the packaging, which is super helpful. As I have troublesome pores, my Daily Doser contains Tretinoin, a retinoid proven to make pores less visible, Niacinamide, an antioxidant proven to reduce skin oil production, as I have an oily T-Zone, and Azelaic Acid, a natural acid that normalises skin cells to unblock pores. As the months go on, they do up the amount of each ingredient, so that it is not too harsh on your skin right away, and gives the skin time to adjust to the ingredients. You only need to use the Daily Doser once a day - on an evening after you have cleansed and the the container has a twist feature so that you get the exact amount per use. I have been using this trio a month now and I have definitely noticed a difference with my pores - they are a lot less clogged up and a lot less visible.

The Moisturiser I was prescribed is the Skin + Me Soothe + Smooth Light Moisturiser (50ml), which comes in a similar tube to the Cleanser. This is for combination to oily skin, which I have and is a dreamy lightweight moisturiser for both morning and evening. The Moisturiser works in perfect harmony with your Daily Doser, boosting your skin's moisture and barrier function without clogging pores. Key ingredients include Allantoin to soothe and protect the skin, Ceramides, which are fatty acids found in skin cells that prevent dryness and irritation, Betaine to attract and retain moisture to settle and soften the skin and Glycerin, to keep the skin healthy and protect against irritation. I really think this is an excellent service, especially for those who find the whole skincare system confusing as there really are so many products out there. Skin + Me makes it super easy for you and you can change your skin's needs as you go along. The only reason I haven't renewed my subscription is because as a blogger, I get so many skincare products to try, but I would definitely think of subscribing in the future.

You can get one month's free subscription with the discount code KATHRYNW8HUU and you can find Skin + Me online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
