I think this is only the second ever fragrance from Jo Malone I have ever owned - they are all so beautiful, but so expensive at the same time and I use a lot of perfume. But the Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne really peaked my interest.
The Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne retails at £56.00 for 30ml and £112.00 for 100ml, and I of course opted for the 30ml bottle. The Cologne comes in a transparent glass bottle with a turquoise wood-effect lid. I adore anything woody, musky, scented - basically more manly scents than florals etc, and so this really appealed to me.
The fragrance is based upon windswept walks along the beach, the air fresh with sea salt and mineral scent of rugged cliffs, mingling with the woody earthiness of sage. It definitely gives that impression, and is a really fresh, woody scent and you can smell the sage coming through too. I absolutely adore it and I think it could be worn by a man or a woman in my opinion.
The top note is Ambrette Seeds, their textural quality wraps the fragrance with an aura of sophistication, the heart note is Sea Salt, the crunchy nature of which brings both texture and a sense of freshness and the base note is Sage, woody with earthy, aromatic tones that bring a natural depth. One of the big positives with Jo Malone fragrances, is that a little goes a long way, so even though they are on the pricier side, you only need a couple of spritzes per use and it has excellent longevity throughout the day.
