The Barry M Super Size In A Fix Grip Primer Review

Monday 4 March 2024

We are seeing a lot of gripping primers on the market at the moment, and one of the most recent releases is the Barry M In A Fix Grip Primer, which I didn't realise at the time, but it comes in regular size, and the size I have here, Super Size. One of the reasons gripping primers are so popular is because they, do what they say, they grip your foundation to your skin, so it should therefore keep makeup in place and make it long lasting.

The Barry M Super Size In A Fix Grip Primer retails for £10.99 for 50ml, whilst the regular size is £7.99 for 30ml, so just £3.00 extra for nearly double the amount. The packaging is lilac in colour and there is a pump applicator for ease of use. I tend to need two small pumps per use, and as soon as you press it into the skin, it gives a cooling sensation - not menthol like a plumping lip gloss, just very cooling, which will be wonderful in Summer! The formula dries down quite quickly, but it is always best to wait a few minutes inbetween applying any foundation over any primer.

It is definitely a tacky-feeling formula, without feeling sticky or uncomfortable on the skin. My foundation applies wonderfully over it, and I tried a couple of different foundations to see whether it would affect the formula, but there was no moving or pilling, which is good. I tend to have quite a good sense of smell, and I don't believe there is any fragrance in this, so for those of you who don't like fragranced makeup, then you may enjoy this. The formula is clear and is key ingredients include Chamomile Extract to calm the skin, so wonderful if you suffer from redness, Aloe Vera to condition the skin and Vitamin B5 to hydrate the skin.

I think my favourite things about this Primer are that it is instantly refreshing and hydrating, and that my foundations adhere to it really well, therefore my makeup stays in place throughout the day, and I don't tend to get patches where my foundation has come off due to oiliness. I have tried the Milk Hydro Grip Primer and the Elf Power Grip Primer, and I would say this is a very similar concept, but probably the cheapest option.

You can find the Barry M In A Fix Grip Primer online here.

All the Loves,
