Five Lip Glosses You Need To Try - Max Factor 2000 Calorie, Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable, Soft Beauty Divine Shine, W7 My Atlantis & Dior Addict Lip Maximizer

Tuesday 5 March 2024

Apologies for the super long title, but welcome to today's post, which is five lip glosses you need to try! I wanted to include a variety of brands, shades and budgets, rather than going for super popular lip glosses or brands you see every single day...

The Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze is a new release, which is something we haven't seen from Max Factor for a while, but I am glad they are coming out with new products. They retail at £9.99 and there are six yummy shades to choose from, and I went for 150 Caramel Swish, a slightly pink toned medium nude, that is a great everyday option. The wand has a slightly large domed sponge applicator with a slanted tip for easy application. The formula is lightweight and non-sticky and is enriched with a nourishing complex of Hyaluronic Acid and Squalene to keep the lips well moisturised during wear. It is a very comfortable formula to wear, with a milky-vanilla scent, and smooths out the lips to make them look plumper whilst also adding a good covering of pigment to the lips. Not all lip glosses show up on the lips, but these ones do, which I love and I will definitely be looking to buy another couple of shades. You can find the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Lip Glaze online at Look Fantastic here.

The Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm, is such a great lip hybrid, as you are getting the benefits of a lip balm but with the appearance of a gloss. They retail at £19.00 and there are five shades available, of which I have Nearly Mauve here, which adds a tint of Mauve to the lips, but not as much as the Max Factor Lip Glaze, although you can build colour by adding more layers of the product. These are so nourishing and feel so smoothing on the lips, but with a pop of gloss to enhance lips. The formula includes a botanical blend of White Waterlily, Lotus and Gardenia to help soothe, calm and nourish the lips. The formula is super comfortable and non-sticky. The applicator is a tapered point, which I like because I have quite fine lips, so if an applicator is too large it can get a little messy. These can be worn on their own, or on top of lipsticks to add more shine and keep the lips in tip top condition. You can find the Rare Beauty Stay Vulnerable Glossy Lip Balm online at Space NK here.

Soft Beauty is an independent, lesser-known brand from influencer, Emily De Melo, and I ordered some mystery bags a while ago and I have been loving the Soft Beauty Divine Shine Lip Gloss in the shade 03 The Siren. They retail for £15.00, which is a little pricey compared to high street brands, but if you aren't picky on colour, you can get the great value mystery bags for around £10-15.00. The Siren is a beautiful pinky peach shade, perfect for Spring and Summer The wand is very similar to the Max Factor one, so easy to apply and the formula is also very pigmented, so you get great coverage and colour payoff. The formula isn't gloopy or sticky and is very smoothing and comfortable on the lips, with the glossiness enhancing the fullness of your lips, even if they are thin like mine. I don't really notice a fragrance when wearing this lip gloss, so if you don't like fragranced products, then this would be great for you. The formula contains Vitamin E, which keeps lips hydrated throughout wear, and overall I am really impressed with these lip glosses and have a few different shades. I think it is really nice to be able to support smaller businesses if possible as there are SO many beauty brands now that they often get overlooked. I love trying to find more affordable makeup options, because more than ever, due to the cost of living, people are struggling, but we still deserve to have products that make us feel good about ourselves. The W7 My Atlantis Lipgloss is a great option at just £4.50. The packaging is reminiscent of Huda Beauty, but that aside, this lipgloss is a pretty pink shade with tiny sparkles running throughout it. The long wand features a small tapered sponge applicator, great for finer lips like mine and ensuring you don't get too much product out at once. You don't get a tonne of colour, so if you like a more natural gloss, then this is a great option for you, but you do get that little bit of sparkle. This is such a comfortable lip product to wear, not at all greasy or sticky, and it feels very hydrating on the lips. I have sensory issues, and so some lip glosses I struggle wearing, but I have no problems with this at all. The only downside is that there aren't any other colours, but W7 create many other lip products and glosses, so you won't have a problem finding other affordable lip makeup. Fragrance wise, I don't notice a scent there, so again, if you like your makeup fragrance-free, or have sensitivity, this should work well for you. You can find the W7 My Atlantis Lipgloss online at W7 here.

One of my most recent lipgloss obsessions is the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Lip Glosses. There are 39 shades to choose from, which is wild for a lip gloss, and here I have the shade 056 Frosted Pink, a slightly holographic soft pink with silver and pink micro fine glitter. The Lip Maximizers come in a gorgeous casing, features the Dior signature logo and have a very slim, tapered sponge applicator. The formula is infused with Cherry Oil and Hyaluronic Acid providing the lips with genuine hydration and plumping to make the lips look fuller without the pain some lip plumpers can cause. They do have a minty fresh scent to them, and you get an immediate slight tingle, but this lasts a few seconds and is not at all painful, and feels more cooling. It has a nice smoothing, glossy texture, without any gloopiness or stickiness. Pigment-wise, this particular shade adds a hint of the soft pink and sparkle, meaning you can wear it on its own or over the top of lipsticks to get that dimensional shine and gloss. At £32.00, they are on the more expensive side, but you are paying for that luxury experience, luxury packaging and quality ingredients. I have quite a few of these now, and I just recently ordered the Icy Blue shade which looks interesting, so I am looking forward to trying that! You can find the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer online at Dior here.

All the Loves,
