The Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner Review

Saturday 2 March 2024

I have been using and loving Elemis for many, many years. Alongside Dermalogica, it was one of the first skincare brands I used in my late teens, and is a very reliable brand. I thought I would talk about some of my everyday products, because I tend to focus on new products when writing blog posts, and a lot of my very loved, reliable products get forgotten about on here. One of my favourite ever toners is the Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner...

The Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner comes in two sizes, a smaller one at 50ml for £10.00 if you are wanting to see if it works with your skin, or the larger size of 200ml for £29.00. The 200ml bottle comes with a spray applicator for ease of use. If you have combination skin, this purifying treatment toner will be great for you as it helps maintain the natural pH level without the use of alcohol or other harsh detergents. The formula is infused with extracts of Lavender, Quillaja Wood and Sweet Betty Flower, and the hydrating formula balances and softens the skin whilst leaving it looking and feeling fresh without dryness or tightness. The Balancing Lavender Toner also acts as the first layer of hydration and aids in the penetration of the moisturiser or night cream you use.

Let's take a look at the key ingredients... Lavender Extract balances oil production, soothes skin, so great for those with a more sensitive skin, and helps reduce inflammation. Sweet Betty Flower is a natural cleansing and foaming agent that tones, moisturises and rebalances pH levels without the use of alcohol, and therefore works really well for combination skin. Saponins are extracted from Quillaja Wood, and are a natural skin cleanser, which is much better for the skin that a harsh detergent.

I use the Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner both morning and night after cleansing the skin. I personally don't like products, water or anything getting in my eyes (sensory issues), so I don't love the pump on this, but I know a lot of people prefer a pump. I tend to spritz the Toner on to a cotton pad and then gently wipe across the face and neck. The Toner does have quite a prominent lavender scent to it, which I personally love as lavender is one of my favourite fragrances, but I know not everyone loves scented skincare so I did want to point that out. It feels very refreshing on the skin and works wonders in Summer to cool you down.

You can find the Elemis Balancing Lavender Toner online at Elemis here.

All the Loves,
