The Erborian CC Red Correct Automatic Perfector Review + Swatches

Friday 8 March 2024

I saw so many people talking about the Erborian CC Red Correct Automatic Perfector a couple of years ago, but as it was when I was recovering from surgeries and dealing with all of that situation, I never got round to trying it. Which was a shame, because I do suffer with redness, mostly on my cheeks, and it used to be something I was very conscious of as a teenager, especially as I was super shy, so I would end up going super red at times. However, in a recent beauty box I got from Boots, they had it in there!

There are two sizes available, the one I have here, 15ml, which costs £20.50, or the full size of 45ml for £41.00. As I try out so many makeup products, I have recently tried to buy smaller sizes of products if at all possible as then I don't end up wasting too much. The Erborian CC Red Correct comes in a green squeezy tube with a silver cap and a pointed nozzle, so you just squeeze a small amount out (emphasis on the small amount, as a little goes a long way with this product), which comes out green.

Green is renowned for cancelling out redness, but do not fear as once you start massaging it into the skin, it turns into a more neutral skin shade. Now, obviously if you have a darker skin tone, you may be concerned, but it is supposed to be a base product before you go in with foundation, rather than something you would use on its own. The nude shade is simply the colour it needs to be to cancel the redness on the skin without leaving behind a green hue on the skin - I love Shrek, but I don't want to be the same colour as him.

This innovative formula adjusts to your skin tone, and uses Glycerin and Tiger Grass Extract to deeply moisturise the skin and add some plumpness. Vitamin E, which is rich in antioxidants, reduces the appearance of any blemishes and imperfections on the skin to keep your complexion clearer and smoother. Tiger Grass Extract is an ingredient that is often used within products that are evening out complexions that suffer from redness - Dr Jart have a whole line of products including this key ingredient. I don't find that it has any negative affect on my foundation, and wears really nice underneath. If you have a light to medium skin tone, you could probably get away with just wearing this without foundation, as it provides really good coverage as it is cancelling out the redness and giving a more overall balanced skin tone. Now I feel I need to try other products from Erborian!

The top swatch is the Erborian CC Red Correct before massaging it into the skin, and underneath is it slightly massaged in, as you can see it goes into a more nude skin tone shade.
