MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick Reverence Review + Swatch

Friday 1 March 2019

MAC Cosmetics are pretty much the Queens of Lipstick, and they have recently brought out a brand new formula, the Powder Kiss Lipstick, in a range of 24 different shades, including nudes, pinks, reds, oranges and much more, so there is something to suit all tastes and skin tones.
If you follow Debenhams Beauty on social media, you may be aware of their Community page, which was created to share your tips on beauty and see what's happening in the beauty community. As well as forums and a blog, they also offer you the chance to win new products and experiences and I was recently lucky enough to win one of the MAC Powder Kiss Lipsticks to be able to try out and share my thoughts on for the Debenhams Beauty Community, but I also wanted to be able to share my thoughts on here too.
The Powder Kiss packaging is in the iconic MAC black bullet, except this time the bullet has a soft 'powdery' feel to it. As soon as you see the lipstick itself you can tell that the consistency and formula are both different, and when applying to the lips, the lipstick feels soft and lightweight. I have the shade Reverence which is an everyday pink nude, which will suit most skin tones and although it gives great coverage, this isn't a full coverage formula, and it more light and powder-like.
When wearing the lipstick, it doesn't dry out my lips even though it has that lovely matte finish, whereas quite a lot of matte lip products can dry the lips out as well as making them look wrinkled and tight. Wear-wise, this lasted me a good few hours, and even through a drink of coffee, which is still great, because 99% of lipsticks apart from liquid lipsticks often last a lot less than this formula. I was definitely impressed and I have been raving about it to my friends and family as you just cannot go wrong with a MAC lippie.
If you are struggling with lipstick lasting on your lips for whatever reason, I would recommend using a gentle lip scrub before application to rid the skin of any dryness, giving you a smoother base to work from. I often use the MAC Prep + Prime Lip which is a conditioning base to keep the lips protected and also helps the lipstick to adhere to your lips keeping it in place.

The MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick costs £17.50 and is available in-store and online at Debenhams.

All the Loves,
