I was recently sent some products from a healthcare brand called New Nordic, which included products for both hair and nails and so after putting them to the test I wanted to share my results. First up though, I shall include a little information about the brand…
A gentleman called Karl Kristian established New Nordic in 1990 in Copenhagen and the first herbal food supplements were introduced into Danish health stores and in 1992, New Nordic’s natural heartburn remedy Frutin was registered as a natural medicine. Within a few years, Frutin was available in Australia, Canada, USA and all Nordic countries and the company grew more than 50% each year for 16 years. Today, New Nordic has many valued products with several of them being market leaders with international presence and the owner are continuously developing and producing efficient herbal products.
I have been trying the New Nordic Hair Volume Gummies (£19.95) for around a month now, and I have found them such an easy inclusion as they are little sugar-coated jellies which taste of apple. Each tub contains one months-worth of Gummies and you take two per day in connection with a meal. Hair Volume Gummies have a combination of millet, horsetail, biotin and zinc and supply nutrients to the scalp and the hair follicles, which is where the hair is formed. The content of biotin and zinc helps maintain normal hair and normal skin. It is advised to take these Gummies if you are going through a period of thinning hair and poor growth due to malnutrition and oxidative stress as well as after menopause in response to hormonal changes. Therefore, if you have regular, healthy hair, this isn’t going to give it ten times the volume, but it is simply there as an aide to maintain that healthy hair. When it was cold throughout February, I continued to take these and even though the cold normally plays havoc with my hair, I found that whilst taking the gummies, my hair looked and felt a lot healthier.
For a more ‘beautifying’ hair product, the New Nordic Hair Volume Tablets (£24.95) are for you. Rather than a gummy formula, these come in capsules, in packs of thirty, and you take one per day with a glass of water. Hair Volume tablets are made from apple extract in combination with millet, horsetail, amino acid, biotin, zinc and copper, so all the goodness for your hair! The tablet supplies the scalp and follicles with nutrients, just like the gummy version and also contributes to normal hair growth and normal functions of the skin, with the zinc contributing to the follicle’s production of hair colour, which gives hair its natural colour. As with the Gummies, the capsule version is also for those suffering from thinning hair and poor growth due to malnutrition and oxidative stress as well as after menopause in response to hormonal changes. However, if you are simply wanting to give your hair growth the best nutritional support, then you can also use this product to give you beautiful, naturally fuller hair, of which I have been experiencing.
Due to severe endometriosis, my hair, skin and nails can often get pretty beat up, and throughout January due to this and due to the cold weather, I didn’t even bother painting my nails as they just looked horrendous. So, I was definitely looking forward to trying one of New Nordic’s newer releases, the Hair Volume plus Nail Strong (£29.95). These come in tablet form and two are to be taken each day with a glass of water. The combination of ingredients including apple extract which is rich in procyanidin B2 plus cholin-stabilised orthosilicic acid nourishes and activates the life processes of hair follicle cells and nail matrix cells. Within just two weeks I noticed a huge difference in the health of my nails, and they are definitely ‘manicure-worthy’ again now. The tablet works from the inside out and is manufactured in Sweden, and I would definitely advise this for the majority of people, rather than for those going through menopause etc as an everyday health and beauty supplement.
You can find New Nordic Supplements in-store and online at Holland & Barrett.
All the Loves,
