Estee Lauder Companies Little Box. Big Day. Review

Sunday 5 May 2019

I am definitely not getting married, I don't even have a boyfriend, just a couple of beautiful cats named Daisy and Millie. However, when I saw the Little Day. Big Box. from the Estee Lauder group, I knew I wanted to have it. Estee Lauder as a company have many brands within them, including Bobbi Brown, MAC, Clinique, Smashbox, Glamglow etc and every so often they bring out a tester box full of deluxe sample sized and full sized products from a variety of different brands.
The Little Box. Big Day. has been created with a bride in mind, however we will skip that part and concentrate on the products inside. You receive seven deluxe sample sizes and one full size product for the price of £28.00. A lot of monthly 'surprise' boxes can cost anywhere from £15.00-£50.00 and so it is a nice middle of the road price, and of course you get to see what you are spending your money on.
Starting with skincare, you receive 15g of the Glamglow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment, which is a face mask, and you could definitely get a few uses from this. I love Glamglow products as they are always so innovative and this mask is great for dry skin. You then also receive 15ml of the Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator, a lovely cooling and fresh moisturiser. I haven;t tried anything from the brand before, but in this box you get 5ml of the Darphin Essential Oil Elixir 8-Flower Nectar Oil Cream. This is another moisturising cream, however it smells divine and I love getting the opportunity to try new products, especially when they have oils as the main ingredients as you know they are going to be great for the skin. The final 'skin' product is 4ml of Estee Lauder's Beautiful Belle Eau de Parfum. I hadn't tried this fragrance previously but it would make a great wedding day perfume as it is very feminine and classy. I also love how this sample size has a pump applicator as I never tend to use perfume samples when you can't spritz them on your body, so I am very happy with that.
Moving on to makeup, you receive the cult Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in a 12ml size. This is such a great sample size, and products and sizes like this are perfect for travelling. I have used the Photo Finish Primer before and it is such a good primer for all skin types. I love Bobbi Brown and this box contains two of their products. Firstly, you get the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara which comes in a deluxe sample size but with a full-sized brush applicator and whoever finishes a mascara anyway? The other product from them is the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in the shade Golden Pink. I have a few of the full-sized versions of this product and they are so quick and easy to use and they never budge or smudge. Golden Pink is a really pretty rose gold shade with a hint of shimmer running through it. Finally, you receive a full-sized MAC Satin Lipstick in the shade Twig. If you were to buy this lipstick it would cost £17.50, so this box really is excellent value. Twig is a lovely soft muted brownish-pink shade and will suit most skin tones.
Overall I am very pleased with this box as it lets me revisit old favourites, whilst also getting the opportunity to try brands and products I haven't previously tried. As mentioned, the Little Box. Big Day. costs £28.00 and you can find it online at Estee Lauder here, but they do also sell it on the other brands' sites such as Glamglow, MAC etc.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
