Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara Review

Aside from foundations, I think mascaras are one of my favourite things to try out. As I have mentioned many times on my blog, I do have very short, fine, fair and straight lashes and so I am always on the hunt for a mascara to give me that false-lash look, but it isn't easy when you haven't been very blessed in the lash department.

I had seen quite a lot of positive reviews on the Hourglass Caution Extreme Lash Mascara and at £25.00, it wasn't something I immediately wanted to splurge on. However, I kept putting a few pounds aside and decided a month or so later that I definitely wanted to try it out. The mascara comes in a fairly heavy, gold metal triangular-shaped tube and the brush itself doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary.

Hourglass market this mascara as an all-in-one mascara that adds length, volume and lift. The 4D Amplifier brush combines two brushes in one, to give you the best of both worlds. Well, whatever that brush is, it is a bloody good brush. When I first tried the mascara out, I was blown away with how the brush picked up every single lash, even the tiniest ones, and it looks incredible on my lower lash line. I applied two coats, so I can say that this mascara is buildable, and my lashes and my eyes have never looked like they do with this mascara. 

I think because the wand picks up every lash, it alters the shape and the definition of my eyes and lash line. My lashes look longer, thicker and they have a lift to them, so yes Hourglass marketers, you are right! Throughout the day, and some pretty tired eyes, this mascara did not budge, and I even slept in it (after removing the rest of my makeup), and I woke up and I still had lifted longer lashes. On the slightly negative side, it does take some getting off, but if you use an oil-based eye makeup remover and place a cotton pad over the lashes for a few seconds, then this will remove the mascara fairly easily.
