Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder + Setting Superpower Powder Brush Review

Sunday 2 June 2019

You cannot beat QVC for their deals on Tarte Cosmetics, especially when they are doing a beauty promotion. Not only are they the only UK distributor of Tarte, they also have offers on where you can spread the cost over four months interest free credit, plus some of the powders and foundations come with a brush at little to no extra charge. So I recently ordered the Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder which came with the Tarte Setting Superpower Powder Brush.
The Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder is available in two shades on QVC, Translucent, which is what I have and Translucent Tan Deep. You get 12g of powder in the compact, which features a cool stripey design on the lid, and comes with a mirror on the inside of the lid and a powder puff for on the go. The powder itself has a mesh covering, which reminds me of the Becca Hydra Mist Setting Powder, except this doesn't give a cooling effect on the skin like the Becca powder. You can either push down on the mesh with the sponge puff, or swirl your brush onto it to release the powder. The Shape Tape Setting Powder is very finely milled and I found that it didn't look cakey or built-up on my skin. I did find the puff a little useless as it didn't seem to gather much, if any powder and so I personally would recommend using a brush with it.
The brush which came with the powder is the Tarte Setting Superpower Powder Brush and it is so, so soft on the skin! The baby pink bristles are like silk and they don't tug or pull on the skin, and the fact that the brush doesn't have a compacted tip, means that it doesn't pick up too much product. You can really go in gently with the powder and either have it as a light covering or build it up. The brush has a cool handle which makes it really easy to use and it is also lightweight so it is great for travelling too. Once I apply this to my skin, I do find that it stays on throughout the day, and normally where I get oily skin on my T-Zone, that has calmed down a lot whilst wearing this so I am super happy about that. If you like a matte finish, then this is definitely a product you will get on well with.
Through QVC, the Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder and Setting Superpower Powder Brush costs £36.00 and you can find it online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
