Too Faced Haul Autumn 2019

Wednesday 23 October 2019

I used to be obsessed with Too Faced before it became available in the UK, and then it arrived at Debenhams a few years ago but all of the American releases didn't seem to be over here. However, now Boots stock Too Faced and they even have some of the new products which were released in America last year, so I decided to have a splurge and try out some of the new products.
First up we have the Too Faced Triple Scoop Hyper-Reflective Highlighting Palette (£34.00) which comes in the cutest ice-cream decorated palette. Once you open the palette, you can smell Neapolitan ice cream, which smells delicious, and there is a mirror on the inside of the lid which features a little ice cream illustration, and then the three highlighter shades, Vanilla, Strawberry and Chocolate. I love a bit of sparkle, and these are definitely glittery, and to be honest I would only personally use Vanilla as a highlighter, and perhaps Strawberry as a blush. Chocolate is far too dark for me to use on the cheeks, but all three are so shimmery and glittery that they make amazing eyeshadows. I must admit, the palette did look a little different online, but I do love Vanilla, and using the other two as eyeshadows as they are super twinkly and sparkly.
Next up is the Too Faced Tutti Frutti It's Bananas Brightening Setting Powder (£25.00). My skin gets pretty dull during the colder months, and this complexion-perfecting setting powder is great for blurring out imperfections and harsh lines to leave the skin a lot brighter, smoother and softer-focused. It is a similar compact to the Highlighting Palette, this time illustrated with bananas, even down to the embossed bananas in the powder itself. Plus, in true Too Faced style, it even smells of bananas, which is one of my favourite fruity scents. The powder itself feels very finely milled, and is really soft on the skin, and because it is so finely milled, it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, nor does it look cakey. I will definitely be reaching for this a lot during Autumn and Winter to brighten my skin.
There are two eyeshadow palettes available in the Too Faced Tutti Frutti collection, and on reflection, I wish I had gone for the berry-toned palette. The Too Faced Tutti Frutti Sparkling Pineapple Eyeshadow Palette (£30.00) is still lovely, with its sparkly pineapple lid, and its pineapple fragrance, but for me I don't love all of the shades. It is still a gorgeous palette, there is no doubt about that, but they just don't seem to go as well together as the other shades. The palette contains a matte cream, a shimmery ballet pink, a matte terracotta, a sparkling bronze gold, a shade-shifting brown with blue shimmer, a matte brown and a shimmery soft gold. For me, the gold bronze glitter isn't a flattering colour, and the three matte shades are a little too 'safe' for me in a Too Faced palette. I do enjoy the softer shimmers, but overall you cannot create too many eye looks with this palette.
Following on from the palettes, we have the Too Faced Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo in the shade Berries & Bubbly (£25.00). This pretty in pink compact features cocktail glasses on the front of the palette as well as on the little mirror on the inside of the lid. The palette has a sweet berry scent to it and includes a pretty rose nude matte blush and a super sparkly champagne blush, although I would definitely wear this as more of a highlighter than a blush. However, it is great that you are getting two products in one, and of course you can blend the two together or use them separately. I do think the smaller palettes are slightly pricey, but when you consider you are getting a blush and a highlighter, which can also be used as an eyeshadow, it doesn't seem that much individually.
As my skin is quite dull and lacklustre, I love primers and foundations that are glowy and pearlescent, so I opted for the Too Faced Dew You Fresh Glow Luminous Face Primer (£28.00). There are three shades available, Radiant Caramel, Radiant Nude and the one I have here, Radiant Pearl and each bottle holds 39ml, which is definitely good value for a primer. The Dew You comes in a push-applicator bottle so that you can control the amount of product you are using, and gives the prettiest luminosity to the skin, whether you want to wear it alone or underneath foundation. This primer feels very hydrating as soon as you apply it to the skin, which I believe is due to it containing water-rich ingredients such as cucumber and watermelon, which of course Too Faced have used as a scent within this primer too. The other two colours looked stunning too, but this definitely suits my fair to light skintone.
If you love a full-glitter eyeshadow moment, then you will love the Too Faced Tutti Frutti Twinkle Twinkle Liquid Glitter Eye Shadows (£18.00). There are around 11 shades available and these are definitely one of the most glittery liquid shadows I have tried, and I have tried more than my fair share. I opted for the shade Strawberries & Cream, which is a rose pink metallic full of silver glitter. It is very glitzy and gorgeous, but I would have liked to have been able to look at the shades in real-life as I do prefer a gold glitter over a silver one. But that is just personal preference and has nothing to do with the actual product, which does take a couple of minutes to dry down, but once it is set, lasts throughout the day without budging. These will be perfect for all the festive parties coming up!
You can find Too Faced online at Boots here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
