Valentine's Day Beauty

Tuesday 11 February 2020

However you are celebrating Valentine's Day this year, whether it be solo, with a loved one, with family, or with friends, I have collated some beautiful Valentine's Day inspired beauty products.
Starting with the skin, we have the new Garnier Micellar Rose Water Cleanse & Glow* (£6.99 for 400ml). This cleanser both removes makeup and encourages a healthy glow to the skin, removing impurities and dirt while brightening dull and sensitive skin types. Rose Water is known for its brightening properties, and is infused into this formula with a gorgeous scent, whilst Micelles are cleansing agents that capture makeup and grime like a magnet and lift them away from the skin, leaving you with a good skin day everyday. You can find it online at Boots here.
If like me, you love a good face mask, I highly recommend trying the Garnier Fruit AHA Shot Fresh-Mix Tissue Mask* (£3.99). Inside the sachet you get a tissue mask and then the other half of the sachet contains 30ml of serum, which you then mix in with the mask. That amount of serum is incredible and it will help to hydrate the skin, leaving it feeling suppler and smoother. This Mask is suitable for all skin types, even sensitive skins, and they do offer other skin type masks. You can find it online at Boots here.
Seen as it is Valentine's Day, I thought I must include a lip mask too, so we have the bubu Skincare #youpucker Lip Plumping Mask* (£5.00). This shimmering gel lip plumping mask delivers key active ingredients and a powerful shot of hydration to the lips, leaving them feeling fuller and fabulous. The key ingredients include Botox, a cosmetic grade approved ingredient, and Hyaluronic Acid, which nourishes and hydrates the delicate lip area. You can find it online at Pretty Little Thing here.
Because I am mask crazy, I also wanted to include a hair mask to get those locks extra luscious, so we have the Cake Beauty The Smooth Move Moisture Melt Hair Mask* (£2.99 for 50ml). This ultra-luxe hair mask contains butters and oils to replenish missing moisture and restore your hair to its very best. Cake recommend leaving this mask on for around 5 minutes, but if you have the time, take a bubble bath and leave it on for longer and once rinsed off, it will leave you with super soft hair. You can find it online at Boots here.
I am a Beauty Blender lover, but I recently tried the Revolution Foundation & Setting Sponge Set* (£8.00), which includes one blender sponge for applying and blending foundation and a unique flocked textured sponge with a flat surface, which is great for setting and baking makeup. The Setting Sponge is the winner of this duo for me, as it feels so soft, and I also like to wet it and use it as a foundation sponge too. Plus, I love anything pastel-coloured, so this baby pink hue is super pretty. You can find it online at Revolution here.
To set your foundation into place, I recommend the Jurlique Rose Silk Finishing Powder* (£29.00 for 10g), especially if you love anything rose-scented. This lovely compact contains a mirror on the inside of the lid, a setting sponge and then of course the Finishing Powder itself. This translucent powder has a lightweight and silky texture which helps to give a softer, smoother complexion and of course keeps your makeup in place throughout the day. The formula contains herbal extracts of Rosemary and Sage to help rebalance oiliness, too, so is therefore suitable for all skin types. You can find it online at Jurlique here.
At the time of writing this post, my next two products are not currently available in the UK, as I bought them over in Orlando in December, but they are just SO Valentine's Day I just had to include them. First we have the Physician's Formula Rose All Day Petal Glow in the shade Freshly Picked. The packaging is so lovely, and the light gold-toned highlighter has been moulded into a rose shape too. It gives the skin a very pretty glow and I hope they release it over here soon.
The second item is the Physician's Formula Rose All Day Mascara, which also has that sweet pink and white packaging like the Highlighter. This mascara has a natural bristled brush and will add both volume and length to the lashes, so you can flutter them to your heart's content. The mascara also contains a lash lifting blend of oils, so it will help to nourish and lift the lashes at the same time. I like that the brush isn't too large on this mascara, as I have quite short, straight and fine lashes, so sometimes I need a smaller brush to catch every lash.
Because I don't have the best natural lashes, I do like to wear false lashes for special occasions, and the Ardell Magnetic Liner & Lash Kit (£17.99) is such a great kit. If you struggle putting lashes on, then this is the kit for you! You simply apply the magnetic gel liner, which is black, and then apply the lashes on top of that, with no glue required! You don't have to wait for the liner to dry, you don't get messy fingertips and they slip onto the liner so easily, that they are perfect for beginners or pros. You can find them at Superdrug here.
On to the lips, and I have been loving the Dr PawPaw Scrub & Nourish* (£8.95). This handy little pot of lip-loving goodness is a 2-in-1 product, so you receive a lip scrub on top, and the Original Dr PawPaw Balm on the bottom. There is a delicious mango and coconut scent to this product and it contains 100% natural ingredients, including PawPaw to nourish the lips, Olive Oil to hydrate them, and Aloe Vera to soothe. Your lips are going to be in perfect condition ready for all that kissing! You can find this handy duo online at Dr PawPaw here.
A brand new release from one of my favourite beauty brands is the IT Cosmetics Pillow Lips Lipsticks* (£20.00 each), which come in a Matte or Cream formula. Here I have two of the Cream formula lipsticks, in the shade Wink, a warm coral pink, and Vision, a great everyday nude. These are full pigment lipsticks and one swipe gives you amazing coverage and colour. The formula includes a Tri-Oil Complex and Collagen, to help minimise the appearance of fine lines, helping the lips to appear fuller and plumper. They are so comfortable to wear, and the cushion-like packaging is adorable! You can find them online at IT Cosmetics here.
If a bolder lip is more your thing, then check out the Milani Bold Matte Lipstick in the shade I Am Motivated* (£9.95). The Milani Bold Matte Lipsticks are long-wearing and very rich in pigment. Even though this is a matte lipstick, it is very comfortable to wear and not at all drying on the lips. Milani claim it can last up to 8 hours, and so it doesn't matter how much kissing you're going to be doing, your lips will still look amazing! You can find Milani online at Beauty Bay here, where there are a total of 17 colourful shades to choose from.
Finally, on to the nails, and I just had to include these two super sweet Mavala Nail Colour Cream Polishes* (£5.50 each for 5ml). These are little bottles that pack a punch, and who ever uses a full bottle of nail polish anyway? I chose beautiful soft pink nudes, Rose Shell and Rose. They both have a pearlescent finish to them, and will give you ultra-feminine nails in just a few minutes. You can find Mavala online at Fenwick's here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
