Valentine's Day Gift Guide 2020

Sunday 9 February 2020

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and whether you want to treat yourself or treat a loved one, I have put together a little gift guide of some of my favourite Valentine's themed gifts.
A lovely luxe body oil is such a lovely gift, as it isn't something we necessarily buy for ourselves, but it can help soothe the mind and nourish the body. I recommend the Jurlique Rose Body Oil* (£39.00 for 100ml). It is a lightweight, silky smooth, delicately rose-scented body oil which is rich in pure organic botanicals, featuring a blend of Safflower, Macadamia and Jojoba Oils which are rich in essential fatty acids to help nourish, hydrate and soften the skin. It can also be used as massage oil too. You can find it online at Jurlique here.
For those who love to paint their nails, Leighton Denny has some lovely red and pinks nail polish shades. Here I have chosen Smoking Jacket*, a rich burgundy metallic, and Paparazzi*, a bright pop of magenta pink. Leighton Denny create some of the best nail polishes on the market, and also have a whole host of nail care items, so you could even create a little nail lover's gift basket. You can find them online at Leighton Denny here, where they cost £12.00 each.
I was so excited when I saw there was a fragrance brand with my name on it, and spelt the exact same way! The ByKathryn Padstow Rocks Perfume* (£35.00 for 15ml) is a great size for popping in your handbag to have a refresh whilst you are out and about. This is a stunning beach-inspired fragrance which opens with grassy and citrus top notes, followed by a salty ozonic and floral heart, with cedarwood base notes. This is my kinda fragrance down to a tee, and is perfect for the upcoming warmer months. You can find it online at ByKathryn here.
A super affordable, yet super cute gift is the Yardley London Hand Cream Duo* (Currently half price at £3.50), which includes two 50ml tubes of their amazing hand creams. You receive one hand cream with their Lily of the Valley fragrance, and one hand cream featuring their English Rose fragrance. This is a really sweet little duo and would make an excellent accompaniment to the Leighton Denny Nail Polishes to get hands in beautiful condition. You can find it online at Yardley London here.
A more affordable bath and body oil is the Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Energizing Bath, Body & Massage Oil* (£11.99 for 237ml). This dreamily scented oil helps to hydrate and energise dry, dull skin and is silky-smooth to the touch. It contains a Shea Butter and Coconut Water blend with a fusion of Dragon Fruit, Lychee Berry and Green Apple Extracts to moisturise and nourish the skin. This can be used under hot running water for a relaxing bath, as a massage oil or applied straight onto the body for moisturising. You can find it online at Boots here.
Silk hair accessories have been super popular in the last year or so and these Only Curls Silk Mini Pink Scrunchies* are adorable. They are made from 100% silk, and the smooth silk fabric helps to reduce tangles, breakage and frizz. I also think they are very well-priced, as for three of them it costs just £10.00, which I think is the perfect price-point for a best friend on Valentine's Day. You can find them online at Only Curls here.
Onto my favourite time, bath time! These oh-so-pretty Heathcote & Ivory Bathing Flowers* (£11.00) are a great option for those who love a relaxing bath. As you get so many in the box, these will last plenty of bath times, and they smell of Pear Blossom, too. If a friend or loved one is allergic to real flowers, I think this is a lovely alternative gift to let them enjoy the idea of flowers, except these ones will last much longer! You can find the Bathing Flowers online at Heathcote & Ivory here.
I picked up this sweet-as-cherry-pie Disney Minnie & Mickey Mouse Folding Mirror Brush for just £2.00 from Primark recently. It is iridescent pink, and in the shape of a heart, perfect for all those Disney fans out there. The little mirror and brush make this a handy little gift to have for on the go touch-ups and can fit pretty much anywhere! This isn't available online, but be sure to check your local Primark store.
The Woods Of Windsor Lavender Eau de Toilette* (£14.39) is a very affordable fragrance, and you receive a whopping 100ml! It comes in a very pretty illustrated box and the bottle itself is simple, yet elegant. Woods of Windsor use only the purest natural oils for a distinctive, long lasting effect and uses up to 96% naturally derived ingredients. This signature Lavender fragrance combines aromatic notes of patchouli, musk and chamomile. You can find it online at Woods of Windsor here, where there are also other fragrances available.
In the past year or so I have learned to cook more from scratch, and really, really enjoyed it. This Kate Guy Cardabelle Design Roasted Tomato Soup Tea Towel* (£12.00) is just lovely! The design is made from a modular system of linocut prints, and each individual tile is an ingredient which is combined in one design forming the recipe for Roasted Tomato Soup. The designs themselves are printed onto high quality organic cotton tea towels, and are available in different recipes, which also appear on the back of the paper sleeve it comes in. You can find this online at Kate Guy here.
For the gift of beautiful skin, the Magnitone Super Naturals Sonic-Pure Cleansing Starter Kit* (£60.00) is amazing. It contains the XOXO Micro-Sonic Silicone Facial Cleansing Brush, the Breakout Knockout Anti-Oil Gel Cleanser and the Zero Shine Anti-Pollution Mineral Moisturiser. The XOXO Cleansing Brush is their gentlest silicone, sonic device available and gives you the best skincare treatment whilst also protecting sensitive skin. The micro sonic vibrations wobble impurities from pores and make way for better skincare absorption. The Cleanser contains Activated Charcoal, Wasabi and Tea Tree, whilst the Moisturiser contains Zinc, Magnesium and Resurrection Plant in order to get skin looking its very best. You can find it online at Magnitone here.
Last but not least, we have the Dr Bronner's 18-in-1 Rose Pure-Castille Soap* (£8.19 for 237ml), which has a fresh and floral scent with a hint of sweetness to it. Dr Bronner's Pure-Castille Soaps are great for just about any cleaning task - face, body, hair, food, dishes, laundry, pets and more, so if your loved one is a fan of Mrs Hinch, then this little treat will go down a storm! There are other fragrances available, but I thought the Rose one was perfect for Valentine's Day. You can find it online at Dr Bronner's here.
All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
