Chanel Sublimage L'Essence De Teint Ultimate Radiance-Generating Serum Foundation Review

Tuesday 16 February 2021

Possibly one of the longest names of foundation I have come across, the Chanel Sublimage L'Essence De Teint Ultimate Radiance-Generating Serum Foundation was recently released and as someone who desperately wanted to try the original Chanel Sublimage Foundation (the one in the pot), I decided to splurge big time on this as I do get 20% off on some beauty websites due to my Student Discount card.

The Chanel Sublimage L'Essence de Teint Foundation comes in a luxe gold and black box, and inside you get 40ml of the Foundation, which comes in a glass bottle with a push-down applicator and a beautifully soft Chanel applicator brush. This foundation is an experience and a beautiful one at that.

There are 12 shades available, which, yes, that is shocking nowadays, especially for a brand such as Chanel. I opted for the second lightest shade, B10, and I have fair to light skin. The formula is quite loose and serum-like, and it does have a scent to it, but I don't mind that as it is similar to Chanel's skincare and I find it pleasant. This is not a full coverage foundation, so if that is your thing, this won't be for you. However, it does give light to medium buildable coverage and just makes the skin look super healthy and glowy, without any glitter or iridescent particles.

I don't naturally have the best skin, and so I do love my skincare products as I know I have to look after it to help it look its best. That is one reason why I wanted to try this foundation, because it is makeup and skincare in one. The formula combines light-reflecting particles and pigments to give the skin immediate radiance that lasts throughout the day. The Sublimage feels lightweight and fresh on the skin and it melts into the skin to make it look smoother and it definitely helps to reduce the appearance of my pores, which is something that not many foundations do.

The Chanel Sublimage does come with a signature brush, which in itself is gorgeous and oh-so-soft, and it is a wonderful buffing brush to gently buff the foundation into the skin. You can of course use a Beauty Blender or even your fingertips, but I found the brush worked really well for me and so often I am not normally a fan of foundation brushes.

Intense Vanilla Planifolia water from the signature ingredient of Sublimage, helps to maintain the quality of the skin and works as an antioxidant to protect the skin from external aggressors. So even though you get a great result immediately, worn daily or multiple times a week, over a longer period of time, this is going to have long-lasting results on the skin itself. Is it worth the £110 price tag? I am not even sure myself - obviously it isn't something I could repeatedly purchase, but it does do the things it claims to do, and if you are looking for beautiful skin with every application, and can afford this, then yes, I do think it is worth it. But that doesn't mean there aren't more affordable options out there, I just haven't tried them yet. You do only need a couple of small pumps of the product, so it will last a good amount of time, and if you were to buy such a high-quality luxe makeup brush, that could easily set you back £75.00 with high-end brands.

All the Loves,
