Lavera Bio Organic Makeup Collection - Review & Swatches

Sunday 14 February 2021

I love trying out new makeup products and one brand which has recently caught my eye is Lavera, who have a wide range of skin and body care as well as makeup. The brand is organic, and so the ingredients are more natural and better for the skin. I was recently very kindly sent some products to try out and so I wanted to give you all my thoughts on each one individually.

Starting with the base, I tried out the Lavera Tinted Moisturising Cream 3-in-1* (£14.90 for 30ml). There are around seven shades to choose from and I opted for the second lightest Ivory Light 01 as I am fair to light skinned in Winter. At the moment, with a lot of mask-wearing and not much going out, I do want something that gives me coverage but without it looking or feeling too heavy on the skin. The Tinted Moisturising Cream contains anti-ageing Q10 which helps to strengthen the skin and keeping it well moisturised throughout the day, which is especially useful during this cold weather we are having. You release the product using a pump, which I always prefer with foundation-type products as it is easier to control. The formula is lovely and soft and feels super moisturising on the skin as soon as it is applied and gives the skin a healthy, natural glow. Coverage-wise, it is more of a natural finish, but that is something I have been loving during these recent months.

For highlight, I have the Lavera Natural Glow Highlighter in the shade Rosy Shine 01* (£11.90) and I chose this because I have deterred away from super blingy highlighter in the last year and prefer something more natural. This beautiful light pearl pink hue is perfect for brightening cheek bones, the tip of the nose, the brow bones and cupid's bow. The formula isn't chalky as it contains organic jojoba oil and so it is naturally moisturising and gives a smooth even finish. Since first using this highlighter, it has been my go-to as it is so pretty on the skin.

As I am naturally quite light-skinned, I love adding a pop of colour to my cheeks and the Lavera So Fresh Mineral Rouge Powder* in the shade Charming Rose 01 (£12.90) is perfect for this. The formula is once again, buttery soft and has a slight sheen to it, so it provides a really healthy pop of colour on the skin. The Lavera packaging is fairly simple, but I really like that as it makes it super easy to find the shade you are looking for in your makeup collection as you can see through the lid. There are some other shades in the blush and because I love this easy-to-use, blendable formula so much, I definitely want to pick at least one more shade up.

The Lavera Beautiful Mineral Eyeshadow Quads* (£13.90) are such amazing quality! It looks like you only get a small amount of product in the pans, but these are one-swipe situations as they are pigmented and creamy, applying on to the eyelids with zero fuss. So whether you are a makeup newbie or a pro, you are going to be able to create such pretty looks using these quads. The Quad I have here is in the colourway Cappuccino Cream 02, and features a mixture of matte and satin finishes, and when we are able to travel, the size of these palettes are absolutely travel-friendly, and you could even use the matte brown shade for your brows too - I do love a multi-use product!

I have mentioned this before, but I do have very short, straight, fine and fair eyelashes, so I am always on the lookout for new mascaras to try to give my lashes the boost they need. Lavera have a few different mascaras to choose from, but I loved the sound of the Lavera Powerful Lashes Mascara* (£14.90). This Mascara has a more rubberised applicator compared to the traditional wands, and I was a bit sceptical when I saw it because as a rule, I tend to prefer the traditional styles. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this mascara! The applicator has multiple sides to it, giving multiple effects. Even with just one coat, and no primer, this mascara lifted my lashes immediately, as well as lengthening them. It did add a little volume, but not a tonne, but just to find a mascara that lifts my lashes is enough for me! It is also worth pointing out that this formula contains organic shea butter and so it also looks after your lashes throughout the day.

For lips, I wanted something moisturising rather than glossy, as with the cold weather and the mask-wearing, we are all a little pickier now when it comes to lip products. I chose the Lavera Natural Brilliant Care Lipstick* (£12.90) in the shade Strawberry Pink 02. I have naturally thin lips and so I love that this has a neat petite bullet as it makes for less mistakes and applies easily to the lips. The formula is moisturising and nourishing, which is something you want for the lips and it also includes Q10 and so it is anti-ageing too. The colour is a very pretty shade of pink and is very wearable for all occasions. It isn't a a super matte, super stay all day lipstick, and so you do have to reapply throughout the day, but I don't want something that is going to be glued onto my lips.

You can find Lavera Makeup online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
