Kiehl's Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum Review

Wednesday 3 March 2021

I just adore trying out new skincare, I think it is one of the easiest and most enjoyable forms of selfcare. I was recently very kindly sent the Kiehl's Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum*, one of their newest releases and have had the pleasure of trying it out lately.

The Kiehl's Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum comes in a red glass bottle, complete with pump applicator to ensure you don't release too much product per application. The formula is a cream colour and super lightweight. As soon as you apply it to the skin, it is one of the most refreshing, hydrating formulas I have tried. It feels silky and smoothing, without leaving any oily residue behind, and it does have a slight fragrance to it, which is just the natural scent from the many natural ingredients.

This Serum penetrates the skin for up to eight surface layers deep, which is a lot further than the majority of serums, and the lower down a product goes in the layers of skin, the better it is at working, and also working more long-term. This has been produced to target the appearance of visible signs of ageing by helping to diminish the look of fine lines and reviving tired-looking, dull skin. Even after just one use, my skin looked more radiant and felt more nourished. The formula promotes skin surface cell turnover, meaning that the skin renews quicker, therefore the skin is healthier and more glowing as it is newer skin.

To use this serum, you simply apply to the face and neck area both morning and night, after cleansed and toned skin and before a moisturiser. The serum is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skins. Kiehl's do say that this can be used underneath another serum, but I personally found that I didn't need to include a further serum in my skincare routine.

The two key ingredients within the formula are herbal Adaptogens, which includes a tradition Chinese, Korean and Ayurveda blend of Red Ginseng Root, Holy Basil and Schisandra Berry, which is known for its moisturising properties. The second is 11kDa Hyaluronic Acid. I am sure you will be familiar with Hyaluronic Acid - it provides and keeps moisture locked into the skin, and 11kDa is the smallest molecular size of Hyaluronic Acid which enables the formula to deliver its hydrating and plumping benefits to the skin due to its ability to penetrate up to eight surface layers as mentioned above.

The Kiehl's Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum retails for £42.00 for 30ml, and one small pump is enough for one application of both the face and neck, so this is going to last a while, and I just love the fact that it can reach further than most of my other serums, so I know this works not only well superficially on the top of the skin, but also deep down.

You can find the Kiehl's Vital Skin-Strengthening Super Serum online at Kiehl's here.

All the Loves,
