Stila is such a beautiful brand and I am always blown away with their new releases. Their Spring 2021 collection is no different, and I was very kindly sent the Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm* to try out, which I think is such an excellent complexion product for the upcoming warmer days (fingers crossed!).
The Stila Tinted Moisturizer Skin Balm retails for £25.00 for 10g of product and it arrives in a neat rose gold compact. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid for on-the-go touch-ups if required and a magnetic closure to ensure it doesn't open up in your makeup bag or drawer. There are eight shades available, ranging from fair skin tones to deep, dark skin tones, and as it is a balm rather than a foundation, you don't need to be spot on with the colour. I opted for shade 1.0, Cream to Ivory Warm for fair skin, as I have fair skin, however, as I mentioned, this doesn't need to be spot on and so even when I have some warmth in my skin from the sunshine, this will still work for me then too.
The Skin Balm is formulated with natural castor seed, sunflower seed and safflower seed oils which helps with the skin's natural moisture balance, and Vitamins C and E to provide antioxidant protection and natural extracts including rice bran, rosemary leaf, camellia leaf and grapeseed to help promote hydration levels and even out the skin tone. So, this is a very skincare-heavy kind of product, which I think is amazing as the only thing better than makeup, is makeup that takes care of your skin whilst you are wearing it!
As the name suggests, this has a balm texture, but not one that is sticky or greasy and there is no residue leftover once applied to the skin. It isn't a full-coverage complexion product, but I did find that it evened out my skin tone and cancelled out some redness around my cheek areas. During the warmer months I don't like a heavy foundation and so this is going to be amazing particularly during those months as it is super lightweight and it is going to care for my skin whilst outside in the heat. If you like the idea of the skin-loving ingredients, but want fuller coverage, I did try using it as a primer and then layering foundation over the top, just to see how it would work and I found it worked really well and my makeup stayed in place throughout the day.
