New In NARS - Spring 2021

Thursday 15 April 2021

NARS have brought out so many beautiful new releases lately, that I just had to pick a few up! I opted for the NARS Euphoria Face Palette, the NARS Air Matte Lip Colour and the NARS Soft Matte Tinted Lip Balm, but I could have spent a fortune!

Starting with the NARS Euphoria Face Palette (£56.00), this comes in a beautiful terracotta and rose gold palette, which thankfully seems to be more slimline and compact than some of their other face palettes. Inside the palette, you find a mirror on the inside of the lid, eight eyeshadows in a mix of satin, matte and shimmer finishes and three glistening shades of highlighters. I love a multi-use product, and you could of course use the highlighters as eyeshadows too and the dark brown matte eyeshadow for the brows, making it such a handy palette for travelling with. The eyeshadow shades included are, Eye To Eye - a matte light taupe, Phaedra - a shimmering white with pink pearl, Dream State - a shimmering magenta with blue reflective pearl, Athene - a matte light peach, Illumia - a shimmering medium gold with red undertones, Out Of Bounds - a shimmering chocolate brown, Slow Burn - a shimmering hot pink and Dark Sky - a matte chocolate brown. I adore the mixture of tones and textures within the eyeshadows as you are able to create so many different looks. The formula of all three textures are soft, smooth, highly pigmented and blend really well. The highlighter shades you receive are Teorama - a shimmering medium peach, Spell - a shimmering medium gold with yellow undertones and Solaris - a shimmering light pink. As all three might not necessarily suit your skin tone, you can use the ones that don't as eyeshadows to create pretty washes of shimmer on the eyes. The highlighter formula feels like velvet on the skin, and they blend like a dream, so that it is more of a skin-like finish than powder sat on top of the skin. I really do love this palette and I will get so much use out of it all year round.

Next up is the limited edition NARS Air Matte Lip Colour (£23.00 for 7.5ml), which is available in ten different shades. I opted for the lightest shade, All Yours which is a soft pinky-peach-nude shade and makes for the perfect every day colour! The packaging is gorgeous, with a soft-touch feel to it and a slanted doe-foot applicator, making it super quick and easy to apply the colour. As soon as I applied this, I felt like I wanted to buy every single colour - the formula feels absolutely weightless, it is super soft and super velvety, providing full coverage from just one swipe. I have never tried such a lightweight formula ever, and I have tried a LOT of lip products in my time. Even though it has a matte finish, it doesn't dry down harshly, it doesn't crack, it doesn't feel tight or drying, it just feels so so comfortable and has excellent longevity too. I would highly recommend picking one of these up, especially with them being limited edition!

I have worn and loved the NARS Tinted Lip Balms for a couple of years now, so I was excited to try the new NARS Soft Matte Tinted Lip Balm (£23.00 for 2.8g). There are five nude shades to choose from, and I opted for the lightest, Intimate as I am quite fair skinned and fair haired, so I figured this would work best for me. The tube is a matte silver and black affair, and I must say I prefer it when the tube is the colour of the balm itself like with the Afterglow Lip Balms they did, but it is still pretty. The shade Intimate is a slightly peachy-nude, which is often my preference with a nude shade as it always seems to suit my skin tone the best. Even though these are tinted lip balms, you still get a tonne of colour from just one swatch, and again, like with the Air Matte Lip Colour, these are so soft and comfortable to wear and matte without being drying or looking flaky or tight. The formula contains Amino Acid Powder and Olive Oil Wax to help condition the lips, so not only are you getting great colour, your lips are also being looked after and well-nourished.

You can find NARS online here.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
