My Favourite Summer Bronzers

As someone who is naturally fair-skinned, bronzer is probably one of my all-time favourite products, and so in today's post, I will be showcasing some of the best bronzers to warm up the complexion for this Summer and beyond.

Let's start with something cute - the Catrice Disney Maxi Matt Face & Body Bronzer (£6.95 for 26g) features Marie from The Aristocats and I love anything that features a cat! This is a matte finish bronzer which can be used equally effectively on the face or body as it has a large pan, so you can easily use it with a body brush. The compact features a mirror on the inside of the lid and the bronzer itself has an image of Marie on it, along with a delicate coconut scent. If cats aren't your thing, there is also one that features Lady from Lady and the Tramp!

One of my all-time favourite bronzers is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Long-Wear Matte Bronzer (£27.00 for 8g), which is now available in three different shades, Milk Chocolate, Chocolate Soleil, and Dark Chocolate. I have the original Chocolate Soleil as it is only very recently they released additional shades, but I always find this shade works really well for my colouring. The formula is infused with 100% Cocoa Powder and smells of chocolate too, in true Too Faced style. Chocolate Soleil features a rich, medium matte buildable formula and I think it is the only bronzer I have ever finished and had to replace! Which tells you in itself how much I love it.

Over the past 9-12 months, I have really been enjoying using liquid and cream bronzers and find they can often look more natural on the skin. I would highly recommend the KVD Vegan Beauty Mod Con Liquid-Gel Contour* (£24.00 for 17ml). There are eight shades available and here I have Light Warm 80, which is perfect for my fair to light skin tone. This is a lightweight, transfer-resistant liquid-gel contour which easily creates lifelike dimension. The formula contains high-contrast pigments and adds realistic depth whilst also hydrating the skin to keep it looking fresh and smooth. The applicator is a doe foot sponge and so it is super easy to apply and blends out beautifully into the skin without being streaky or oily. You can of course use it as a contour product to define, or all around the perimeter of the face to add warmth.

A beautiful powder bronzer is the Kevyn Aucoin Neo-Bronzer* (£27.00 for 6.8g), which is available in three shades, of which I have Sunrise Light, the lightest of the three. This is a super versatile bronzer as it is an ombre makeup palette that can be used to colour and sculpt the face, featuring satin, pearl and matte finishes. The finely milled powder is comfortable to wear and can be built up to reach the required intensity. Whether you are wanting a soft, sun-kissed look or a bold contour, each shade glides evenly onto the skin to contour and illuminate the cheeks in a rich, natural-looking glow. I also like to take the colour and use it all over my eyelids as a super quick and easy wash of colour. As you are getting a gradient of colours in each palette, this can take you all year round as and when you gain some colour on your face.

Another multi-use bronzing product I have been enjoying lately is the Creme Shop 123 Smile Shading Cream Trio ($18.00 for 12g). I saw Tati Westbrook use this in a video and so I ended up ordering it from the US Amazon website, and I am so glad that I did. There are three options to choose from and again I went for the Light option. This handy, and affordable palette features three cream bronzers which are easy to blend and easy to build up to your desired intensity. Once applied, the formula finishes to a smooth, velvety matte and as you are getting three colours per palette, this can also work for you all year round. I now find cream bronzers one of the easiest products to use and have been reaching for this palette a lot.

If you want a bronzer that is perfect for travelling with, then I would highly recommend the Benecos Natural Fresh Bronzing Duo* (£6.95). Within this neatly presented palette, you get a lovely caramel bronzer and a pretty pink blush, hence why it is great for travelling with! You can of course use the products separately, or swirl your brush in both and create a pinky-toned flush or colour, which is very much in at the moment! The delicate and silky bronzer and blush are so easy to apply and glide effortlessly and evenly onto the skin for a pretty, natural look in seconds. It is also one of the most affordable bronzers in this post, and yet performs like a high-end bronzer.

Another excellent cream bronzer option is the e.l.f. Putty Bronzer* (£6.00 for 10g), which is available in five shades. Here I have the shade Feelin' Shady, which again works well for my light skin tone. You really cannot go wrong with e.l.f. cosmetics, they are very affordable but they work so well. This is a unique putty to powder bronzer that delivers highly pigmented, buildable colour for a natural sun-kissed glow. As it is a cream formula, is smooths and evens out the complexion and builds and blends effortlessly onto the skin. The formula is enriched with moisturising Argan Oil and Vitamin E, so your skin is kept looking fresh and hydrated throughout the day, as well as beautifully sunkissed.

Now for possibly the most insane, extravagant and beautiful bronzer ever - the Valentino Beauty Go-Clutch On-The-Move Universal Bronzer* (£176.00 when bought with a Lipstick). This is full-on boujie, but something I have never come across before. This luxurious refillable clutch compact comes with a bronzer, a mirror, a brush and a long golden chain so that you can take it with you wherever you go. There is also room for a Minirosso Lipstick. With buildable coverage from sheer to medium, this Light-Lasting creamy powder enhances the skin tone with a matte radiance. Infused with Valentino's signature Roma-Light Complex, inspired by the flattering light of Rome, light-reflecting pearls softly diffuse light for a luminous warmth all day. The formula is skin-smoothing and gives up to 12 hours wear, so there isn't often a need for a touch-up, but who doesn't want to go around with this beauty?

If you are looking for a good, high quality, all-rounder bronzer then I would definitely go for the Diego Dalla Palma Hydra Butter Bronzing Powder* (£24.00 for 11g). There are three shades available and 60, is the lightest, which is the one I have here which will work for fair to light skin tones. This bronzer contains a mix of butters in a powdery texture that delivers nourishment and protection to the skin, so a wonderful option for those with dry skin. The innovative formula melts into the skin giving comfort and lasting hydration and the result is an extraordinary second-skin effect, for a smoother and naturally bronzed complexion. There is a mirror on the inside of the lid for on the go application and this formula will also work well for more mature skin.

All the Loves,
Kathryn xxx
