The Rimmel Lasting Finish Buildable Coverage Powder Foundation Review

Wednesday 11 May 2022

I don't often buy powder foundations or setting powders as they take me forever to go through, but recently my T-Zone has been a little oilier than normal throughout the day and I wanted something to combat this, so I picked up the Rimmel Lasting Finish Buildable Coverage Powder Foundation.

The Rimmel Lasting Finish Buildable Coverage Powder Foundation retails for £9.99 and you get 10g of product. The Powder comes in a red compact, complete with a mirror on the inside of the lid and a sponge underneath the powder itself. The Powder is a lightweight, soft-touch powder that controls shine without feeling dry or looking cakey on the skin. It is a fine powder that can provide medium, buildable coverage that lasts all day.

There are 12 shades available and I opted for 01 Fair Porcelain which is about right for my light skin tone. You can use the sponge applicator included or a foundation brush, but I personally prefer the sponge for more coverage or a large powder brush just use as a setting powder. I don't use this as a full face foundation as I have quite dry, dehydrated skin for the most part, so I cannot comment on that, but I do love using it on my T-Zone as it keeps my makeup in place and therefore my oiliness doesn't show through.

I find that this is very long lasting, and so if you have oily skin, it would be great for using all over the face as a foundation. Generally, as I mentioned, I use a powder brush when applying it as I don't need much coverage as I am using it over a liquid foundation, but on those days when I am oilier, I do like to use the sponge as I find it presses the powder into the skin more, and therefore you have a longer lasting effect.
